A Clinical Analysis on Venomous Snake Bite in West-South Area of Korea

Abstract
The clinical analysis was made on 105 patients of snalke bite which were treated at the St. Columban's hospital from April, 1990 to October, 1993.
1) The ratio between male and female was 1 : 1.1 and age disribution was most provalent in 5th and 7th decades.
2) The seasonal distribution was prominent in July and September.
3) The accidents were occurred on the field in 55 case(52%).
4) The fang mark was two in 63 cases(59.6%).
5) The time interval from an accident to the arrival at hospital was between 3 hours and 24 hours in 68 cases(64.8%).
6) The most common clinical manifestation was the dizziness in 47 cases(44.8%) and local edema in 98 cases(93%).
7) The most frequent complication was phlegmon in 8 cases(7.6%).
8) The treatment was done with Antivenin(r) or Viken(r), the viken(r) was more reasonable in the hospital stay, complications and other symptoms.
